Jonathon Richter is a Research Associate at the Center for Advanced Technology in Education (CATE) at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where he collaborates with designers, faculty, and students to develop 21st century learning capacities. His research interests focus on differentiating learning experiences for students using supported electronic text, portfolio assessment techniques, video games, and multi-user virtual environments. He is a co-founder and current chair of the American Educational Research Association's Special Interest Group on virtual worlds and is co-Principle Investigator on two National Science Foundation grants researching virtual worlds. Dr. Richter has been an active futurist for over a decade consulting, teaching, and writing about the natural linkages between instruction and change.
